A Humble Request

Dear Supervisor Peskin,

I live in your District. I have never asked for anything. But I am today. Please, please, please make it stop.

Thank goodness the war in Iraq, the city budget crisis, the homicide rate, and the Big Mac calory count are all under control by our Board. It gives them time to take care of meaningful shit like this.

I don't know that we'll have a lot of movies and TV shows made here if all along our streets we have homeless death plaques. It just doesn't have the same cache as say, the stars in Hollywood...

Oh Melissa - think of the new jobs and the trickle down effect on City revenue! Someone will make a fortune selling maps. And of course, the same tourists who will come to visit the SROs will definitely also want to see where homeless croaked. Could it be that there is a conflict of interest here?!

How much is brass trading for these days? I give each brass thingy three days before someone figures out how to steal it and sell it.

The Premack principle states that higher-probability behaviors reinforce lower-probability behaviors. Smart parents use this when they make their kids eat the brussels sprouts before they get the chocolate cake.

We need to figure out how to apply this to the Supes, as in, You can place your fucking plaques AFTER you make Muni run 5% more on-time.

Or something.
