Happy Friday, CRs!
Constant Readers,
Another exhausting week is almost over. And we are that much closer to the election. I haven't endorsed any local candidates yet, but as I think about all the supervisors who are about to leave the Board, I realize that my future as a writer will be compromised if we don't get some new personalities. Who will step up to replace the ramblings of the lovable McGoldrick? The zinging one-liners of Ammiano? The droll snark of Peskin? Eric Mar? David Chiu? I'd have to inject meth and Red Bull just to get through a meeting.
That's why I'm endorsing Wilma Pang and Alicia Wang. These ladies promise to give me endless material. Observe the awesomeness:
I was at this debate when Wilma explained that she is the best person to represent District 3 because she is a trained opera singer with no money or "political support." She's got my vote!
Then there's Alicia Wang's promise to change the nature of politicial discourse in this city as evidenced by her Free Hugs campaign. I read that there were four takers. No word on whether they were German tourists.
Can you imagine a new board rule requiring all supervisors to hug at the end of every meeting? A lot would change in this town if that happned. For starters, I'd actually go to City Hall to watch the meetings instead of listening on my computer. Because I'd really need to be there to understand how ass-puckeringly uncomfortable and awkward that would be. And by "awkward" I mean fabulous. Really, really fabulous.
OTHER VIDEOS
I can't figure out how to embed this video but if you want a supremely amusing way to spend four minutes, go here to see Sarah Silverman for Obama. God, I love her. I read that Mistermayor does, too.
And it's good to be reminded that SF has not cornered the market on whimsy.
Finally, I swore not to write any more about you-know-who, but this video is too funny to pass up.
Have a great weekend, y'all!

Wilma Pang needs to pick up the pace.

Wilma is a nice lady. I wish that were her slogan. "Vote for me, cause I'm a nice lady"
If Wilma Pang is elected Supe for D3, I bet she might break into song along with Walter Paulson during his public comment, as opposed to staring at her PC monitor, which is what all the other Supes tend to do when Walter sings. (except Aaron) http://www.vimeo.com/1305104
And Walter IS getting better as a singer. Why don't they give him a talent accommodation?
